Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists who are working together to find a cure for one of the most common forms of cancer in women.  Second only to
non-melanoma skin cancer, breast cancer is the leading cause of death among women.  According to the CDC, in 2005 (the most recent year numbers are available), 186,467 women and 1,764 men were diagnosed
with breast cancer while 41,116 women and 375 men died from breast cancer.  Additionally, it is the number one cause of cancer death in Hispanic women and the second most common cause of cancer death for
black, white, Asian/Pacific Islander and American Indian/Alaska Native women.

*Please note that due to ethics rules, WCSA is not fundraising, only organizing a team.*
