Events & Activities Committee

 

The Events & Activities Committee organizes and plans events, such as member-written book events and receptions. The committee also plans networking activities such as happy hours, dinners, and trips.

  • Round table discussion with Congresswoman Granger
  • Presidential Debate Watch Party with the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association, the Congressional Military Service Members and Veterans Association, and the Congressional Jewish Staff Association
  • Monthly WCSA Happy Hours

Mika Alvarez (she/her) is a Scheduler with a policy portfolio for a Member of Congress on Capitol Hill. As a first-generation graduate from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a proud Nevada native, Alvarez has experience in both the public and private sectors in Washington, D.C. In the private sector, she has worked with a diverse portfolio of clients, including the State of Nevada and Patagonia. In the public sector, she currently supports the Congresswoman, her legislative priorities, and her day-to-day schedule while maintaining correspondence with multiple stakeholders.


Alvarez is also a Masters of Public Policy Candidate at Georgetown University’s McCourt School. I


In her free time, you’ll find her with her cat, Doris, or happily at happy hour.





Alison Feinswog currently serves as a Senior Legislative Assistant for Congressman Mike Levin (CA-49). Her policy portfolio includes education, labor, judiciary, women’s issues, and financial services. She has served in Congressman Mike Levin’s office since February 2019.


Alison received her bachelor’s degree from Tufts University, where she majored in Political Science and English. After graduating, she started her career in politics working at EMILY’s List. In her free time, Alison enjoys running, reading, playing piano, baking chocolate desserts, and exploring everything DC has to offer.
